The God of Small Things & Blood Diamond

Now, its about a novel "The God of Small things".. by Arundhati Roy.. suggested by Ritu.

The first thing that struck my mind when I was reading this novel was the movie "Pulp Fiction".. The novel was written in such a way that you got to be attentive while reading it.. If a general novel goes 1-2-3-4-5 way.. This novel goes in a random sequence 3-1-5-4-2...[Pulp Fiction also goes this way... :) :)] Hats off to the author for composing novel in such a fashion.. and ya this novel deserves the Booker Prize it got... A wonderful and novice way of depicting a complete plot without leaving any voids in the story. This novel explains abt each and every character at the rite time and its abt the life of two twins.. Rahel and Estha... Try reading this..Its funn..

One movie about which I would like to write is "The Blood Diamond".. suggested by Chowdary. A terrific movie which depicts the way how the conflict diamonds are procured, how they pass the borders of different countries and how they are stored underground for the diamond price to rise and be at the peak.. One thing was sure about the movie.. After watching the movie any one the two things will happen (may be both.. ;) ;)).. "We will either hate Africa or stop buying diamonds"..[Not my quote.. Some reviewer's which I felt was apt..].. DiCaprio's acting was gud... {Lets see if he can get the oscars this time..}

The DAY has come.....

People always used to say here (in Andhra) when I was a child, that

THERE WILL COME ONE DAY WHEN PPL STRT FIGHTIN FR WATER

Yaaa.. its water.. not for a gal, not for a kingdom, neither for land nor for power.... Its for one of the basic eminities required for the man to survive... WATER.. Whenever I heard about this in my childhood, I used to think that this mite be one of those meaningless stories.. "How come people fight for water??" But, eventually.. knowing the latest developments in this aspect, I strted to feel tht its no more a story.. Its a fact.. Something thats gonna create tremors in the states... and finally I had to agree that the DAY will come.....

And Now... the DAY has come.. With the supreme court giving a verdict somewhat in favor of Tamil Nadu, the people in Karnataka have staged for a bandh... And the political parties in Karnataka have not come out with any proper response after the verdict was given.. [Donno wht are they thinnking of??? their damn Power, votes, etc..].. Police was deployed everywhere in Bangalore (in fear of riots..) and other sensitive places in Karnataka.

Donno wht the DAY will leave or where will this end.. but lets HOPE NEVER SUCH A DAY COME AGAIN IN THE FUTURE....
