GURUVAYUR
Now, I am back with my trip to Guruvayur.
It is a place in Kerala famous for the temple of Guruvayurappan (the diety there). It has a gr8 history tht Lord Krishna was present when the idol was installed there.... [Furter detials http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guruvayur_Temple]
The temples in Guruvayur have 2 rules for male devotees...
The temples in Guruvayur have 2 rules for male devotees...
1. They shud attend the temple with white Lungis (called Punche)
2. They shudnot be wearing their shirt inside the temple premises.. They
shud be wearing a towel over their body..
shud be wearing a towel over their body..These rules are strictly follwed there.. And all the devotees shud adhere to these rules.
There was a big queue outside the temple and I was lucky to complete my darshan in 2 hrs.. :) :)..And after that. its normal.. had a look at some of the BIGGG elephants there near the temple. They r used to serve the Lord. Then returned back.. Overall.. it was somethin different which I badly needed to come out of this monotonous life in Kochi.. :) :)
