Spring Brk 2008 - aka - A small get-together

My Spring break 2008 went successful. A report on my Spring brk.... 5 days in 5 paragraphs.. :)

I started to
Chicago on Friday midnite and reached on Saturday. I met my friend Praneeth there. It was nice to meet him as I met him after a gap of arnd 21 months. We had lunch in an Indian Restrau. and we had enuf that kept us away frm being hungry until the next morning. That day we also watched a movie called "Bank Job".

The next day, I had to catch a flight from
Chicago to DC, where 3 of our classmates (Ritu, Mungeri and myself) planned to meet. I met Mungeri in the airport. It was a long journey from Baltimore airport to DC. It nearly took us 2 hrs time to finally catch the third one, Ritu. It is always nice to meet our close pals especially after a looooong gap. After some intial comments abt each other ("Ritu.. U did not change", "Mungeri.. U started getting a nice belly", "Siva.. U got shrunk", etc), we went to a river bank.. where it was so nice that I just felt like sitting there and just pass on time. But, the weather made us move frm the place back to the room. The remaining day we spent chatting abt all the silly and stupid stuff we used to do in BHU.

The next day, we watched The Capitol, The White House, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial and Jefferson Memorial(lots of Mem.s huh..! ). It was a lot of walk... but yeah it was fun (May be its bcoz, I forced them to walk at my pace tht they don't realize the effort they put to walk).. ;) Also, we had been to some lakeside place, which was Ritu's fav. spot. The place was so nice that I just felt like sitting there and keep watching the planes take off one after another. Tht nite, due to lack of gud movies in
Hollywood ;) (no unanimous decision), we finally decided to watch Om Shanti Om.

The last day in DC, we went to a park. I loved the park very much. May be next time, if I happen to go to DC, I will plan to spend one day there... Just keep walkin all along.... Later, that day, we went to have dinner at an Ethiopian restrau. It is in
Maryland and we had to commute fr arnd 45 mins to reach there. But, after getting into the restaurant, I felt tht it was worth comuting fr 45 mins. The dinner was amazing. The bread(thts wht they call) looked similar to DOSA and also tasted like tht. It was so nice that, the more bread I had, the more I wanted to.. Had them till my stomach finally gave up.. but the tongue was ready to accept.. if there was any place left.. :). Later tht nite, Mungeri left to NY.

The nxt morning, I caught my flight back to
Chicago. I had my bus to Ames at 9:45PM. So, I had abt 11 hrs time. As I cudn't meet Praneeth, I decided to check out Chicago. I was lucky, as tht day it was not as windy as it was when I went b4. So, walked along Lake Michigan for abt 3-4 hrs. After taking some rest, I started walking on the streets of downtown Chicago for abt 3 hrs amidst those TAAALLL skyscrapers all around. Then finally came back to the bus station and slept there until my chance has come to catch the bus to Ames.

So, the tour to Chicago and DC went very well. Credits to Ritu fr her planning and making the tour an enjoyable one....
